A list of known Installshield issues that might arise and their fixes

Error Number Message Fix
1151 Installshield Wizard fails to start and instead gives the error message: “Error writing to the temporary location” Check for existence of TEMP environment variable. Check that folder pointed to by the TEMP environment variable actually exists.Check that sufficient disk space exists on the target machine for the data being deployed.If all the above are correct: clean the Temp folder by deleting all files within it.Then attempt to run the Set up again
  Unable to start the set up because the Wininstall service is not started Manually start the Wininstall service on the target machine using Computer manager and Services.
  Unable to read the setup.ini file This is caused by a corrupted setup file. You should re-download the installation package
  Unable to save file: access is denied When using a package wrapped in an setup.exe, the installation is unable to write the installation package when running as a local user (Windows 2000 and Windows XP).You will need to run the installation with at least power user privileges
1304 Unable to write to Program Files You are attempting the installation with minimal rights on your computer. (Windows 2000 and Windows XP).You will need to run the installation with at least power user privileges.
1913 Unable to write to Windows You are attempting the installation with minimal rights on your computer. (Windows 2000 and Windows XP).You will need to run the installation with at least power user privileges
